London 2006
Are you an independently thinking individual who just happens to choose to behave like everyone else around you? Or, is your identity manufactured?
Does our society require standard individuals just as it requires standard commodities for mass production?
If this is the case, how is a standard identity shaped?

| Language as an acknowledgement of the failure of human communication. | ||
We live in the society of information, or so they say. laaaotfohc suggests that maybe it is more a society of misinformation.
Written language somehow defines our identity as specifically human, as we are the only animal that communicates in writing. In laaaotfohc I combine the instinctive, non-verbal aspect of language, with its use as a tool for propaganda and social manipulation. I show an instinctive primitive message, inspired in paleo-arabic text, and I "explain" it by using a promotional leaflet where I integrate the international agricultural patent of a genetic sequence.
laaaotfohc was part of the Identikit exhibition at temporarycontemporary, London.
